Kozhikode: PM Modi Inaugurates the 3000crore worth statue of Patel, ironically on the same day, Kerala CM inaugurates housing complex for 192 fishermen families.
Kerala CM will hand over the keys of the newly built housing complexes for fishermen families from the coastal areas in Trivandrum. The housing complex is a dream project of many who lost their land and homes in cyclone and sea erosion.
India’s Prime Minister took 2000 acres from Indian farmers for nothing but to build a statue.
The housing complex is built in 3.5 acres plot in 24 units. The 20crores project was completed efficiently with minimum time by the Uralungal Labour Cooperative Society.
The Statue of Unity as it is called is made in China and assembled in Gujarat. The statue placed on an islet ‘Sadhu Bet’ near the Sardar Sarovar Dam, stands tall at 182 meters.

Modi hails the tallest statue in the world. But in a country where 1500crores soldier’s disability pension is a burden, farmers kill themselves due to debts spending 3000 crore on a statue does not seem to be a wise decision.
Kerala sets an example. It is not the tallest statue what we need but basic infrastructure to live. The pride of the nation lies in the quality of life of its people more than the monuments and statues we have. Patel has always been struggling for the upliftment of India as a nation and well being of its people.
The opposition is of the opinion that “real tribute” to Sardar Vallabhai Patel would be that his order banning the RSS should be placed at the foot of the “Statue of Unity” in Gujarat.
