Every journey teaches us something new. It helps us realize the humbling truth that humans are mere bubbles in the vast universe. Yasmin shared this insight with me as she talked about the lessons her travels had taught her. Sharing the knowledge one gains what could be greater than that?
What else can calm the mind and offer relief from work pressures as effectively as travel? Who doesn’t enjoy going on a tour? Yasmin, a native of Kozhikode who loves traveling, is unique in her love for solo journeys.
Yasmin ensures that the sights she has seen are shared with others. As part of Kerala’s Responsible Tourism initiative, she runs a travel agency called Trip aayo Your Travel Planner.
Considering travel as essential as the air she breathes, Yasmin has explored many places across India and abroad. With a passion for solo travel, she has accumulated a wealth of experience. Her travel writings and articles have been published in various magazines, and she is among the early bloggers in Malayalam.
Yasmin began traveling long ago, initially accompanying a friend on her first trip. That journey became her inspiration, propelling her forward. Eventually, the two of them started a travel agency together.
In 2010, she founded Kerala’s first women-only travel group, Flying Butterflies. This initiative has successfully organized travel packages for numerous women both within India and abroad. Yasmin has also created opportunities for foreign women to stay in Kerala, explore its history and culture, and experience rural life through her thoughtfully curated travel packages.
Yasmin has completed the Trainers of Trainers and Community Tour Leader programs under the RT Mission. She actively collaborates with the RT Mission to promote women-friendly tourism and bring tourism activities to the grassroots level by starting RT clubs. She is also a member of the State Core Team of the RT Mission Society.
“If you truly desire to do something, the entire world will align to support you,” Yasmin often tells women and children, echoing Paulo Coelho’s words. She encourages them to dream of traveling and make it a reality.
“Every journey brings us closer to ourselves. The Earth becomes a tiny globe, and we realize we are just a small bud within it. The ego of ‘I’ fades away,” Yasmin explained.
Recently, Yasmin returned from Egypt with a small pharaoh figurine. As it sat there, it seemed to look at us with a mysterious smile, leaving an impression of her journey and its stories.
