ഇസ്താംബുള്‍: തുര്‍ക്കിയില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന വനിതകളുടെ ലോക ബോക്സിംഗ് ചാമ്പ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്ക് ചരിത്ര സ്വര്‍ണം നേടിതന്ന് നിഖാത് സരീന്‍.
വനിതാ ലോക ചാമ്പ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പത്താം സ്വര്‍ണമാണ് നിഖാത് സരീന്‍ നേടിതന്നത്. 52 കിലോഗ്രാം വിഭാഗത്തിലീണി നിഖാത് സരീന്‍ സ്വര്‍ണം നേടിയത്. ഫൈനലില്‍ തായ്ലന്ഡിന്റെ ജിറ്റ്പോങ് ജിറ്റാമാസിനെയാണു സരീന്‍ തോല്‍പിച്ചത്.
14 വര്‍ഷത്തിനിടെ മേരി കോം അല്ലാതെ ലോക ചാമ്പ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പില്‍ സ്വര്‍ണം നേടുന്ന ആദ്യ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ താരമാണ് സരീന്‍.
ബുധനാഴ്ച നടന്ന സെമി പോരാട്ടത്തില്‍ ബ്രസീലിന്റെ കരോലിന്‍ ഡെ അല്‍മേഡയെ കീഴടക്കിയാണ് സരീന്‍ ഫൈനല്‍ പോരാട്ടത്തിലേക്കു കടന്നത്.

ടൂര്‍ണമെന്റില്‍ ആധികാരികമായിട്ടായിരുന്നു സരീന്റെ മുന്നേറ്റം. ഫൈനലില്‍ തായ്ലന്ഡിന്റെ ജിറ്റ്പോങ് ജുറ്റ്മാസിനെ വീഴ്ത്തിയാണ് നിഖാത് ഇന്ത്യക്കായി സ്വര്‍ണം ഇടിച്ച് നേടിയത്. ഫൈനല്‍ പോരാട്ടത്തില്‍ നാല് റൗണ്ടുകളിലും മുന്നേറിയ താരം 5-0ത്തിന് വിജയവും സ്വര്‍ണവും പിടിച്ചെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
