Chengannur, Kerala: While Kerala is putting a collective effort to co-ordinate the rescue mission in the recent catastrophe, a member of the state legislative assembly has now been forced to plead for aid from the army and air force. Saji Cheriyan, elected representative from Chengannur in Alappuzha, has now appeared before a television channel, appealing emotionally for immediate assistance.

Cheriyan claims that ten thousands of people are facing mortal peril in Chengannur, and rescue team should divert their immediate attention towards it. He demands instant action, and asserts that if the army fails to deliver it, as many as fifty thousand people stranded there might lose their lives tonight. He further states that airlift is the only possible rescue option that can be enacted in the locale.

Despite of his constant pleadings, Cheriyan couldn”t get the army choppers to rescue the affected people from his constituency. His plight has stirred up serious concern among the people of Kerala, and immediate action is demanded right now from the army troupes. An outpour of discontent is vigorously overflowing the social media as well.

Saji Cheriyan says:
Please, do give us a helicopter. I fall at your feet, I beg you to help us. My people will die if they don”t receive help at once. Fifty thousand people from my place will die. Help us, right now. No other method than air lifting will be possible here. We are doing everything we can. We have made political interventions to get fishing boats here. But we are helpless. All vehicles including mine are caught in the flood. Army should immediately divert their attention to our place. We will die, help us. Please, please
