കൊറോണ ആര്‍ക്കു പിടിപെട്ടാലും ദുഃഖകരം തന്നെ. ആ ദുഃഖത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് എല്ലാരും കരകയറട്ടെ. അമാവാസി രാത്രിയില്‍ ഒന്നിച്ചു പാത്രം കൊട്ടിയാല്‍ വൈറസ്സുകള്‍ ദുര്‍ബലരാവുമെന്ന് ട്വീറ്റ് ചെയ്ത അമിതാഭ് ബച്ചനും കൊട്ടിപ്പാടിസേവയുടെ മറ്റൊരു മുഖ്യ വക്താവായ അനുപം ഖേറും ഇപ്പോള്‍ കോവിഡ് ചികിത്സയിലാണ്. രണ്ടു പേരും വിനീതരായി ആധുനിക വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ ആശുപത്രിക്കിടക്കയെ അഭയം പ്രാപിക്കുകയും തങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടവരെല്ലാം പോയി സ്രവപരിശോധന നടത്തണമെന്ന് അപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. അത്രയും നല്ലത്. പ്രതിഭാധനരായ നടന്മാരാണ്. രോഗം ഭേദമാവട്ടെ എന്ന് ആശിക്കുന്നു.
പക്ഷേ, അതിസമ്പന്നരും പ്രശസ്തരും സര്‍വ്വോപരി ഹിന്ദുത്വ ഗവണ്‍മെന്റിന്റെ കഴലൂത്തുകാരുമായവര്‍ക്കു മാത്രം മതിയോ ചികിത്സയും രോഗശമനവുമൊക്കെ.
അസമിലെ പൗരത്വ നിയമ ഭേദഗതി വിരുദ്ധ സമരത്തിനു നേതൃത്വം കൊടുത്തതിന്റെ പേരില്‍ ജയിലിലായ Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) നേതാവ് ശ്രീ.അഖില്‍ ഗൊഗോയിയും മറ്റ് മൂന്നു നേതാക്കളും ഗൗഹാതി ജയിലില്‍ വച്ച് കോവിഡ് ബാധിതരായിരിക്കുന്നു. അസമിലെ ജനകീയ നേതാവും മനുഷ്യാവകാശ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകനുമായ . ഗൊഗോയിയുടെ ജീവന്‍ അപകടത്തിലാണ്. അദ്ദേഹമുള്‍പ്പെടെ കോവിഡ് പോസിറ്റീവ് ആയ നേതാക്കളെ ജയില്‍ മോചിതരാക്കാനോ ചികില്‍സിക്കാനോ അസം ഗവണ്‍മെന്റ് ഇതുവരെ തയ്യാറായിട്ടില്ല. ഈ അനാസ്ഥയ്‌ക്കെതിരേ അസമില്‍ വലിയ പ്രക്ഷോഭം തുടങ്ങിക്കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്. പക്ഷേ, ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ദേശീയമാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു മൂലയ്ക്കു പോലും ആ വാര്‍ത്തയില്ല. സോഷ്യല്‍ മീഡിയ മാത്രമാണ് ആശ്രയം. പ്രമുഖ അഹോമി എഴുത്തുകാര്‍ ഒത്തുചേര്‍ന്ന് അസം മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിക്കയച്ച തുറന്ന കത്തിന്റെ ചുരുക്കം ചുവടെ –
Writers’ Community of Assam Writes an Open Letter to CM Demanding Treatment and Release of Akhil Gogoi
Amid the world and its own land braving a fight against the all-engulfing impact of the novel Covid-19 pandemic, the conscious citizens of Assam are caught in layers of confusion and mistrust regarding the sustained imprisonment of Mr Akhil Gogoi, leader of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS). Gogoi had led from the front in the protest against Citizenship Amendment Act, along with his three colleagues namely Dhoirjya Konwar, Bitu Sonowal and Manash Konwar who are also currently imprisoned. At the same time, Assamese girl Debangana Kalita is imprisoned in New Delhi for raising her voice against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Recently, as per the information coming in news and social media, Dhoirjya Konwar and Bitu Sonowal have tested positive for Covid-19 disease. Swab test report of Akhil Gogoi is yet to arrive but he too is likely to contract the disease, as Covid-19 makes its way towards community transmission in Assam. Considering the fact that COVID test was done for Gogoi and his companions only after the agitation of people and subsequent intervention of court, the citizens are worried if fundamental constitutional and human rights of the political prisoners have been compromised.
In solidarity with the imprisoned leaders, the writers’ community from Assam has come forward to write an open letter to Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal, the chief minister of the state primarily demanding for proper medical treatment of Mr. Gogoi and his companions, and also stressing on the release of all political prisoners of the anti-CAA movement across the country. More than 100 writers from Assam have endorsed the letter, urging the chief minister to take a stand for these children of the soil. The signitaries range from senior writers Nilomoni Phukan, Hiren Gohain, Prabhat Bora, Apurba ISarma, Gnan Pujari, Arupa Patangiya Kalita, Sameer Tanti to the likes of Maushumi Kandali, Nilim Kumar, Areendom Borkotoki, Jiban Narah, Kushal Dutta, Ratna Bharali Talukdar and so on, including young writers from the state like Dr. Kamal Kumar Tanti, Dalim Das, Ankur Ranjan Phukan, Maitrayee Patar, Panchanan Hazarika, among others. Writers like Aruni Kashyap who are currently based out of the state have also endorsed the said letter. The community hopes that the CM as a representative of his people would consider and stand by the humanitarian as well as constitutional aspects of the case.
