ഇന്ത്യ-ഓസീസ് രണ്ടാം മത്സരത്തില്‍ ഇന്ത്യ കൂറ്റന്‍ ്‌സകോര്‍ നേടിയിരുന്നു. ഇന്‍ഡോറില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന മത്സരത്തില്‍ ആദ്യം ബാറ്റ് ചെയ്ത ഇന്ത്യ 50 ഓവറില്‍ 399 റണ്‍സ് നേടിയിരുന്നു.
ഓപ്പണര്‍ ഋതുരാജ് ഗെയ്ക്വാദ് പെട്ടെന്ന് പുറത്തായ മത്സരത്തില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയെ തിരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്നത് ശ്രേയസ് അയ്യരും ശുഭ്മന്‍ ഗില്ലുമാണ്. ഇരുവരും മത്സരത്തില്‍ സെഞ്ച്വറി നേടിയിരുന്നു. ഗില്‍ 97 പന്തില്‍ ആറ് ഫോറിന്റെയും നാല് സിക്‌സറിന്റെയും അകമ്പടിയോടെ 104 റണ്‍സ് നേടിയപ്പോള്‍ അയ്യര്‍ 90 പന്തില്‍ മൂന്ന് സിക്‌സറും 11 ഫോറുമടിച്ച് 105 റണ്‍സ് നേടി ടോപ് സ്‌കോററായി.
രണ്ടാം വിക്കറ്റില്‍ ഇരുവരും ചേര്‍ന്ന് 200 റണ്‍സിന്റെ കൂട്ടുക്കെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യ കൂറ്റന്‍ സ്‌കോറിലെത്തിയെങ്കിലും ഇതിലും കൂടുതല്‍ നേടാന്‍ സാധിക്കുമായിരുന്നു എന്നാണ് ചില ആരാധകരുടെ വാദം.
വ്യക്തിഗത സ്‌കോര്‍ 85 ആയതിന് ശേഷം ഗില്ലും അയ്യരും സ്ലോ ആയെന്നും അതിനാല്‍ ഇന്ത്യ ഒരു 30-40 റണ്‍സ് കുറവാണ് നേടിയതെന്നാണ് ആരാധകര്‍ എക്‌സില്‍ റിയാക്ട് ചെയ്ത്.
ഗില്‍ നേരിട്ട അവസാന 37 പന്തില്‍ 28 റണ്‍സും അയ്യര്‍ അവസാനം നേരിട്ട 29 പന്തില്‍ 29 റണ്‍സുമാണ് നേടിയത്. സ്റ്റാറ്റ് നേടാന്‍ ടീമിനെ മറന്ന് ഇങ്ങനെ കളിക്കേണ്ടതില്ലെന്നാണ് ആരാധകരുടെ വാദം. ഇരുവരും സ്ലോ ആയില്ലായിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്‍ ടീം സ്‌കോര്‍ 400 കഴിഞ്ഞേനേ എന്നും ആരാധകര്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

Score would’ve been atleast 30-40 runs more if Iyer & Gill didn’t considerably slowed down approaching their tons. No runs are safe on this concrete road.

This is already a good score but it could have been so much more if only Gill and Iyer were a lil less selfish. Statpadding shouldn’t happen in the WC.

This innings from Gill must not be celebrated…Iyer was returning from an injury he needs this 100 very badly so his slowing down atleast had a reason but gill’s 17 runs from last 26 balls and that too in this Indore wicket is punishable offence

ഗില്ലിനെയും അയ്യരിനെയും കൂടാതെ നായകന്‍ കെ.എല്‍. രാഹുലും സൂര്യകുമാര്‍ യാദവും ഇന്ത്യക്കായി അര്‍ധസെഞ്ച്വറി നേടിയിരുന്നു. രാഹുല്‍ 38 പന്തില്‍ മൂന്ന് ഫോറും അത്രയും തന്നെ സിക്‌സറുമടിച്ച് 52 റണ്‍സ് നേടിയപ്പോള്‍ ആറാമനായി ഇറങ്ങിയ സൂര്യ അഴിഞ്ഞാടുകയായിരുന്നു.
