ഐസ്വാള്‍: മിസോറാമില്‍ നിര്‍മാണത്തിലിരുന്ന റെയില്‍വെ പാലം തകര്‍ന്നുവീണ് 17 മരണം. തലസ്ഥാന നഗരമായ ഐസ്വാളിന് 21 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ അകലെയുള്ള സൈരാംഗ് ഏരിയക്ക് സമീപം രാവിലെ 10 മണിയോടെയാ അപകടമുണ്ടായത്. മരിച്ചവര്‍ നിര്‍മാണ ജോലിയില്‍ ഏര്‍പ്പെട്ട തൊഴിലാളികളാണെന്നാണ് ദേശീയ മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്യുന്നത്.
സംഭവം നടക്കുമ്പോള്‍ 35-40 തൊഴിലാളികള്‍ സ്ഥലത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്നതിനാല്‍ നിരവധി പേര്‍ കുടുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നതായും ദി ഹിന്ദുവിന്റെ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടില്‍ പറയുന്നു. വടക്കു- കിഴക്കന സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്ക് റെയില്‍വെക്കുള്ള കവാടമായി നിര്‍മിച്ച പാലമാണ് തകര്‍ന്നത്.

സംഭവ സ്ഥലത്ത് രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനം പുരോഗമിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. മരണ സംഖ്യ ഇനിയുമുയര്‍ന്നേക്കാമെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. ദുരന്തത്തില്‍ വലിയ ദുഖം അറിയിക്കുന്നതായി മിസോറാം മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി സോറംതാംഗ അറിയിച്ചു. മരിച്ചവരുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങളെ അനുശോചനം അറിയിക്കുന്നതായും പരിക്കേറ്റവര്‍ എത്രയും വേഗം സുഖം പ്രാപിക്കട്ടെയെന്നും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ട്വീറ്റ് ചെയ്തു.
